Prayer for Overcoming Fear

Recognize that as a child of God you have not been give the spirit of fear—anxiousness, worry or dread. You can’t dwell on fear and trust the Lord at the same time, so decide right now that you will not operate in fear any longer or let it rule your thinking. You will put your trust, your faith, your confidence in the Lord. Fill yourself with God’s Word and starve your doubts and fears to death. Let the Word live BIG in you!

Father, we pray for those who have been plagued with fear. We hold them up to you and speak PEACE to them in the name of Jesus. We come against that spirit of fear and tell it to cease and desist. You are their Peace, and your Peace will guard their heart and mind and keep them far from fear. They will not be afraid of evil tidings because they trust in you, Lord. Just as you told Joshua to mediate in the Word of God, day and night, that’s what we will do today. Fear won’t continue to be a stronghold in your life, strangling you with worry and anxiety. Fear has been defeated at the Cross, and as you take your stand against it, you will have victory. Fear not. Don’t take the fear thoughts into your mind. Let your mind concentrate on what God says and promises you. His Word will drive fear away as you come against it. Jesus came to give you an abundant life of peace. Allow His Peace to permeate your heart and mind and be set free from fear in Jesus name.
