Bible Verses on Fear
Many people are plagued with fear. You don’t have to live in fear, anxiety or worry. Let these verses teach you how to overcome fear. Don’t just read them. Let God’s promises in His Word become real in your life. When you face times of fear or anxiousness, let these promises rise up big within you. Take your stand against fear as you stand on the Word.
Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
1 Chronicles 28:20 – “…Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you…”
Psalm 23:4 – “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 27:1 – “The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid.”
Psalms 56:3-4 – “When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid…”
Psalm 115:11 – “You who fear him, trust in the Lord—for He is their help and shield.”
Psalm 118:6 – “The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:13 – “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
Matthew 19:26, 28, 31 – “Fear not…”
Luke 8:50 – “But when Jesus heard it, he answered him saying, fear not, believe only, and she shall be made whole.”
Romans 8:15 – “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear; but you received the Spirit of sonship [adoption]…”
2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity [fear], but a spirit of power, of love and a sound [disciplined] mind.”
1 John 4:18 – “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear; because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
