Patience

Bible Verses on Patience

In our fast-paced world patience is not a quality that many display. If you’re around those who don’t like to wait, it can affect your patience as well. There is spiritual patience for the believer, and it is a spiritual force that can carry you through hard times. It has been defined as faith in waiting. The following scriptures will help when you need patience.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 – “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

Habakkuk 2:3 – “For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”

Luke 21:19 – “In your patience possess ye your souls.”

Romans 5:3-54 – “… glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope doesn’t disappoint because the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts…”

Romans 8:25 – ““For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently

Romans 15:5 – “Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likedminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.”

1 Thessalonians 1:3 – “Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ…”

2 Thessalonians 1:4 – “So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure.”

1 Timothy 6:11 – “But thou, O man of God….follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love patience, meekness.”

Hebrews 6:12 – “…but be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

Hebrews 12:1 – “Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

James 1:3-4 – “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
