Are You Getting What You Don’t Deserve?

How can you get something you don’t deserve or haven’t worked for? Most folks think you usually get just what you deserved—whether good or bad, and it’s really depended on what you did. That’s the way the world thinks. How should you as a believer think about this? Let’s look at the Word:

“Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access
by faith into
this grace
wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Romans 5:1-2

As believers, we have favor through God’s grace. Because of God’s grace, we have peace with God and forgiveness because He does not impute judgment for our sins—Jesus’ blood covered our sins (past, present, and future). God’s mercy and grace go hand-in-hand. God’s mercy is not getting the judgment and punishment you deserve. The Word also tells us that His mercies are NEW every morning (Lamentations 3:23) – there’s more mercy for every day you live. That ought to get you to shouting!

If God’s mercy wasn’t enough, He also gives His grace. It’s so much more than His unmerited favor. Paul said in Romans that by faith we have access, accessibility to this grace. When Jesus is your Lord and Savior, you are automatically under His grace. God’s love, mercy, and grace are all tied together and available for you. His grace is getting all the things you don’t deserve. God’s grace opens the door to receiving all of God’s blessings and so much more. Everything that God has, that He has given to His Son, is available to you today. Something more to shout about here!

Meditate on God’s grace and His mercy today and by faith receive more because He loves you!
