The Power of Words – Part 2

The other day we looked at how our words can speak life or fear and worry, even death. Today we’ll learn a little more how to activate God’s Word so that our words carry the same power as when God spoke them….yes, that’s possible!

God’s Word is alive. It has as much power today as it did when God originally spoke it thousands of years ago. Hebrews 3:12 confirmed that by saying that the Word of God is quick; it’s alive and powerful. When you begin reading God’s Word, you must start from this premise: God’s Word is true; it is personal, and it is God speaking to me.

God and His Word are One. You can’t separate God from His Word. John 1:1 says that “in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” That makes it pretty plain, doesn’t it? God and His Word are One.

This year, come to the place where you believe His Word above anything else you experience or encounter. The Word is God speaking to you. It is God-breathed. It is God-inspired. It is God-dwelt. Once you recognize that God is speaking to you through the pages of the Bible, you’ll realize He desires an ongoing relationship with you. When you have that, you can approach reading the Word anticipating that God will speak to you. And, He will!

This New Year make sure that God’s Word is the top priority in your life. Your spiritual well-being depends on the words of God from His Word. It will ensure victory in any situation you encounter. Wrap yourself in God’s Word, in His promises because they are God’s words to you.
