The Word of His Grace

ocean waves - wide 2Paul shares an interesting thought to the leaders in the Church at Ephesus in the twentieth chapter of Acts about God’s Grace. He said he was committing them to the continued work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, to the living Word of God—to the Word of God’s Grace.

Now brethren, I commend you to God, and to the
Word of His Grace, which is able to build you up,

and to give you
an inheritance among all
them which are sanctified.”
Acts 20:32

That’s nice you say, but what does it mean for me today? I’m glad you asked.

The other day we shared that you have God’s Word and promise that He will bless you; that His provisions will not be skimpy or meager, but abundant, flourishing, downright outrageous.

God gave His word. He gave an utterance to His generosity. His word is full of GRACE—acceptance, unmerited favor, benefit—because of His great love for you.

What does the Word of His Grace do for you? Paul says it’s able to build you up. His Grace enables you to be encouraged and strengthened each day. It will build you up in your walk with Him. It will cause you to grow stronger and deeper in your faith. It’s God’s ability within you through His Grace.

We’ll look at the rest of the verse next time, but today allow the Word of God’s Grace to permeate your thinking.
