A Day To Remember

We shared this with you last year, but wanted to share it again and today we can add another year because 39 years ago today Jack and I were married!

Where have all the years gone? They seem to have passed quickly – at least looking back at them from this vantage point of 39 years later. Our children are grown and have children of their own, our grandchildren!

A lot of things have transpired over the years, but through it all, the Lord has continued to be faithful to us. He has been our focus and our foundation. He, in fact, called us to be His ministers, to share His Word and love with those around us.

Our life, our marriage, hasn’t been without problems and difficulties. In this earthly life, you’ll encounter problems of life. But nothing has ever been too big that we couldn’t get through it or manage it. Again, our focus, our attention, our direction has always been from God’s Word.

As we celebrate 39 years as husband and wife, I want to thank my husband for loving me no matter what, for being there always, and for encouraging me in my gifts and talents. I thank the Lord for a Godly man, who has continued to hear from the Lord and follow His way.

Today is our day to celebrate God’s goodness, His love, His mercy and grace. God has been so faithful and brought us through many tough times. Throughout everything we’ve encountered in life, the good, the bad, and the ugly, we’ve managed it all together, standing steadfast in the Lord.

He gave us a little song years ago as we begin to our lives together and ministry. The words ring true today just as they did 39 years ago:

“He has brought us safe this far, and He’ll lead us all the way. He’s our Savior and our Lord, and we’ll praise Him every day. Glory to the Lord, Hallelujah praise His Name, We will praise Him every day, Praise the Lord!

Let’s go on for 39 more years, Jack Elder! I love you!
