Are You Fully Persuaded?

IMG_3680-wide“He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise
of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith,
giving glory to God, and being fully persuaded that,
what He promised He was able also to perform.
And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
 Romans 4:20-22

We talked in the last four devotionals about what it means to be in Christ as believers. As another add-on to that foundation, I want you to be fully persuaded of who you are in Christ.

From the verses above we find Abraham’s testimony, his testimony of being fully persuaded of God’s ability to work on his behalf. God made a promise to Abram. Abram could have rejected God’s promise. Thank God he didn’t. Abram became fully persuaded that what God told him, He’d back it up. In other words, he knew that God would do what He said He’d do. What God said He’d do was a big thing—God promised him an heir. And when God promised that, Abram and his wife were well past the child-bearing years (in the natural). When Abram factored in God’s blessing and promise in his life, what had not been possible became possible by faith. Abram moved into the spiritual realm by faith because he was fully persuaded of God’s promise. He discovered that God was (is and always will be) faithful. Abram was fully persuaded.

You won’t be fully persuaded, though, until you know WHO Jesus is. You need to dig into God’s Word and find out WHO Jesus is and recognize WHO He is in your life. Once you do, you will adopt a new way of thinking. In this new way of thinking, you’ll be fully persuaded that everything God has promised you, He will do. That’s faith in action.

You no longer need to be concerned and wonder if God will do something for you. You have His Word on it. You don’t need to feel condemned because of your past—you’re a new creation in Christ. I encourage you today to become fully persuaded of God’s love and of His power at work in your life today. It’ll change the rest of your life because I know that He is able to make ALL grace abound toward you.
