Being In Christ – Part 3

sky colors pic-wide

So far we’ve seen that through God’s great love and grace, He provided eternal life through Jesus Christ to those who accept his free gift. And this free gift says you’re also no longer under the condemnation of the Law because you’re in Christ.

But God’s free, unmerited gift has many other provisions for those who are in Christ. That’s what we want to look more into today – God’s provisions secured for us through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

Those who are in Christ are promised victory, and 2 Corinthians 2:14 says that God will always lead you in triumph. You are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). A conqueror conquers, but God promises to make you MORE than a conqueror. You don’t have to walk around always defeated, always behind the eight ball. God promises that He’ll always lead you in victory, in triumph. If you’re not experiencing that, then you need to allow God’s Word to rule and reign in your life.

Joyce Meyer says it best: To be more than a conqueror means that before you ever get a problem, you already know that whatever problem comes your way, you can overcome it through Christ. You live with confidence that God loves you no matter what and He will never leave you nor forsake you. And when you have this kind of relationship with Christ, you aren’t constantly afraid of bad news or of things that may happen that aren’t in your plan. When the unexpected happens or you’re disappointed, you won’t be devastated by it.”

God has provided His Grace to you in unlimited capacity. Ephesians 2:6-7 says that God provided the incomparable riches of His grace in Christ Jesus to you. You didn’t earn it. You didn’t deserve it, but God gave the inexhaustible supply of His Grace to you because He loves you. What is this grace? It’s more than unmerited favor; it’s supernatural supply, supernatural favor, and supernatural provision in all areas of your life. It’s God’s ability in you doing what only He can do. As Ephesians 1:3 states, we’ve been (past tense that continues into the present and beyond) blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Your provision for all areas of your life is secured in Christ. How do you appropriate it into your now? By faith. Dig into the Word and find out what is yours because you’re in Christ. Then by faith receive God’s provisions; take them. Whatever you have need of, God can and will supply. Whether it’s wisdom for direction in your life, provision for your daily needs, spiritual insight and understanding—God’s grace is available to you (1 Corinthians 1:30). Your position in Christ has given you all that God has, and that’s definitely something to rejoice about today!
