No Loose Ends

Boston Sunset 2013

Boston Sunset 2013

I have always liked Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  This particular verse has always given me comfort to know that God is still working in my life, no matter where I am or what age I am. God doesn’t leave any loose ends.

God planned from the beginning to supply everything for man’s spiritual well-being whether man would take His supply or not. God gave the Law to show man’s his need for redemption and that he couldn’t make it on his own by following a set of rules. Sooner or later, man would fail; and in that failing, he would look to his personal shortcomings and feel condemned, farther away from His Creator. God wants you and me to see that we can’t do anything to clear our own sin-consciousness except to recognize His wonderful provision through Jesus, and receive it.

It’s all about God’s Grace – His compassion, sanctification, cleansing, and favor – for you and me. It’s when we get to the end of ourselves that we find the vastness of God’s love and mercy for us.

I recently read Charles Spurgeon’s thoughts on Grace. He said “we believe that the work of regeneration, conversion, sanctification and faith, is not an act of man’s free will and power, but of the mighty, efficacious and irresistible grace of God.”

Indeed God hasn’t left any loose ends in His love and provision for man. He supplied everything that you and I need to live in right standing with Him, to experience His blessings and goodness in our lives. God’s grace is all that we need. Let us not lose sight of its complete work in our lives, both here and for eternity.
