“And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? Luke 12:25
Christians shouldn’t worry. What is there to worry about if we truly know God is in control? God has our backs. If we believe in a God who truly loves us and cares about us, why worry?
We know the Word says, “Don’t worry,” but how do we stop worrying? As Barney Fife says, “nip it.” At the point you know you are beginning to worry, just say no and begin to fill you mind with the promises of the Word. Like many of the things in the Christian life, you have to put off, and put on. You have to replace the bad with the good. You have to replace worry with faith. Cast the care on the Lord and believe He will take care of it.
Situations are temporary. This too shall pass. Are we worried about our comfort, our livelihood, our family, friends, global warming? Don’t worry about anything you can’t control. Always ask, is this in my control? If it’s not, then ask God to intervene and leave it in His hands.
If it’s in your control, don’t worry about it and just do what needs doing. If you have to tell someone something that you worry might be taken wrong, just follow the leading of the Spirit; do it, and don’t worry about it. Leave the outcome to Him.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled (anxious or worried), neither let them be afraid (fearful).” (John 14:27)
