Forget Not – Part 2

Dont Forget pic-wide

The other day we looked at our part of not forgetting what God has done in our lives. We saw the importance in remembering His Word, keeping it in view so we don’t forget God’s faithfulness. That’s our part, but today we want to look at God’s part. People can promise you this and that and then fail to follow through with their promises. But what God promises, He follows through with—He doesn’t forget.

The Old Testament prophet, Isaiah, told the people of Israel that God would blot out their transgressions (wipe them away for good) and would not remember their sins: ‘I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” (Isaiah 43:25)  What man couldn’t do by his own efforts, Jesus did. Jesus paid the final installment for the activation of God’s package of Love and Grace (forgiveness and so much more). God can’t remember your sin because of Jesus. It was paid for—sign, sealed, and delivered. God didn’t lie. He fulfilled His Word, His promise….He didn’t forget.

Hebrews 10:16-17 tells us “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws [Word] into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”

God is faithful to what His Word says. He can’t and won’t go back on His Word because He isn’t a liar (Numbers 23:19).  “God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent; hath He said and shall He not do it? Or hath he spoken and shall He not make it good?”

Be encouraged today in knowing that God hasn’t forgotten you nor has He given up on the plans He has for you. He is faithful, and He will do what He has promised, what His Word says. He doesn’t forget!
