Hold Onto The Word

Holding onto Bible pic-wide

“The sower sows the word. And these are they
by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they
have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes
away the word that was sown in their hearts.”
Mark 4:14-15

In maintaining victory in your Christian walk, it is helpful to know the strategy of your enemy. But just knowing Satan’s strategy by itself, which is always against you, isn’t enough to eliminate his attacks. He doesn’t want you to have victory each and every day. He doesn’t want you to overcome him. He wants to take what you have so he can overcome and defeat you.

What does he want to take from you? He can’t take your salvation, your place in Christ Jesus, because that is God’s gift of love and grace and once you’re God’s child, nothing and no one can snatch you away (John 10:27-28; 2 Thessalonians 3:3 ). Satan wants to steal God’s Word from you. He doesn’t want you reading the Word. He doesn’t want you following the Word. He certainly doesn’t want you watering the Word, speaking it forth in power in your life. He doesn’t want to see God’s Word working in your life at all. Why?

God’s Word is more powerful than Satan. God’s Word defeats him every time. He will flee when the power of God’s Word is spoken and acted on in faith. God’s Word always and forever will defeat and render Satan powerless. He knows all too well that before he can steal your joy, peace, provisions, and health, he has to steal the Word from you. If he can keep the Word from being activated in your life, he’ll have the edge and move in to defeat and destroy you.

THAT’S WHY it’s important to hold onto the Word. It’s important to not let go of the Word of God’s grace that you have heard. It’s important to keep studying God’s Word, learning more what God has provided for you through Jesus, keeping His Word close to your heart and speaking it forth each day.

Don’t let go but hold onto God’s Word. Hold onto it because it is your life-line for God’s power working in your midst. It will grow as you activate it in your life. Don’t be defeated. Don’t let the riches of God’s Grace be snatched from you. Hold onto God’s Word and walk in your divine inheritance of overcoming power in Christ Jesus.
