Camp Runamuk

The only time I went to “camp” (church camp) was in the fourth grade. I was so excited to go and looked forward to having FUN and enjoying the experience with my friends. I’m sure there were the usual minor “accidents”; after all, when you get 75-100 kids together in one place, “something” is bound to happen. Just in my cabin our counselor, Hannah, had to deal with campers getting cuts and scratches, dealing with homesick girls and one particular top-bunk camper falling out of bed (on 2 occasions), and one camper who got sick and threw up (that was me). But Hannah was a great counselor and was there for each one of us no matter what went on. In spite of a few challenges to my first “camp” experience, it was good. It definitely wasn’t Camp Runamuk—where anything and everything continually goes wrong without any hope of needed changes occurring.

Maybe you’ve experienced Camp Runamuk. Somewhere along the line you received the invitation:  Come dwell in the Mulley grubs and continually be defeated and without hope, always trying to earn your way to eternal life and spiritual peace….an experience you can afford to miss and you will.’

If you’re in Camp Runamuk right now, I have good news for you. You don’t have to stay in that place! Camp Blessing has an immediate opening for you, today.

Galatians 3:13-14 gives exciting and liberating news that Christ has redeemed you and I from the curse of the law, because he took the curse of the Law on Himself for us so that the blessing of Abraham might come on and be available to all people through Jesus Christ, and we can receive His fulfilled promise through faith-believing Him.

The blessings God gave Abraham restored through Jesus are available to you, right now today. Legalistic avenues of pursuit and adherence only lead to more doing in your own abilities. Your deeds and attempts to be holy and right are as filthy, contaminated rags BECAUSE Jesus has redeemed you from what you couldn’t do on your own, in your own strength.

You’re invited today to leave Camp Runamuk and enter Camp Blessing where God’s presence is, where His provisions and grace flow freely, where ALL that God has is available to you—not in the sweet bye and bye, but today, right now. Acceptance and admission is by faith which is simply believing that Jesus Christ has provided something better for you.  Then you’re ready to enjoy the best camp you’ve ever known – Camp Blessing.
