The Ever-Present God

IMG_0529-wide

“God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1

The other day we looked at how God’s presence in our midst will melt away fears and worries. When you focus more on the Lord’s presence and not on the problem, you are not alone. He’s there with you, ready to melt away fear and worry.

David understood this principle because many times he faced struggles, perils, all-out war. He knew God was his refuge, his strength. He experienced the reality of the presence of the Lord in his situations.

God is the same today as He has always been. Jesus said He would never leave or forsake you as a believer. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so when you read from the Word that He is an ever-present help in trouble, that should cause you to jump for joy. You aren’t alone in your struggles. You aren’t without help or hope. The ever-present God is with you. He isn’t afar off, unable to help. He doesn’t say ‘Sorry, can’t help you today. Come back another time.’ No. He cares about you and all that affects your life. He loves you, and desires to be all that you need. He’s there ready to help you right now.

If you’re not experiencing the exciting presence of the Lord today, invite Him in. Get your Bible out and find out more about all that He has provided for you; all that He has available—just for you. He is your ever-present help and always will be there for you.
