What Size Are Fragments?

bread fragments-wide

16And taking the five loaves and the two fishes, He looked up to heaven,
and (praising God) gave thanks
and asked Him to bless
them (to their use); Then He
broke them and gave them to the
disciples to place
before the multitude.
17And all the people ate and were satisfied.
And they gathered up what remained over, twelve (small hand)
baskets of broken pieces [fragments]

Luke 9:16-17, Amplified Version

You’ve probably read this account before, and you may have even concentrated on the miracle that Jesus did—feeding thousands from just two fish and five loaves of bread; but have you thought about the fragments – the small and broken pieces that remained once everyone ate and were satisfied. Fragments are the leftovers, pieces of something larger.

Don’t lose sight of the fragments in what Jesus did and taught the people.  Too often in our daily and weekly challenges we look at our inabilities—we feel inadequate for certain jobs because we don’t recognize our own capabilities and talents. Let’s face it, the more you amplify what you can’t do, the more likely you are to believe you really can’t and then you won’t. Don’t lose sight of the fragments.

The multitude was fed with just five loaves of bread and two fishes. After all was said and done, the disciples took the remaining fragments [pieces] of fish and bread, and there were enough leftovers to fill 12 baskets! Did God supply? Yes!  Did He increase the amount of what He supplied? Yes!  What about the fragments?  Were they nothing, just pieces to be tossed aside?  NO!

Fragments in God’s hands become avenues of blessing for others. God is able to make all grace abound to you in all ways. What you think may be insignificant fragments, when given to the Lord become supernatural increased provisions not only in your life but for others as well. It doesn’t matter the size of your fragment. God is able to make it increase. Let God take your fragments and watch what happens because it’s the limitless power of God in your midst, working His plan and involving you.
