Where Are Your Thoughts?

thinking pic-wide
Albert Einstein once said: “The same thinking that has led you to where you are is not going to lead you to where you want to go.”

I read this quote on a friends Facebook page not long ago, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized there’s some real truth here for the Christian. What does the Word say?

“Do not be conformed to this world…but be transformed (changed)
by the [entire] renewal of your mind—by its new ideals and its new attitude…”
Romans 12:2, Amplified Bible

Many times our thinking gets in the way of our spiritual progress. We keep thinking the same things the world thinks; we think the way we use to think before we encountered the love and grace of Jesus. Our thought patterns are like the grooves of a record or the worn ruts in a dirt road. Whenever something is triggered in our mind, we resort to the old patterns of thought. That can be detrimental to your spiritual walk. Einstein said it well. If where you want to go is not where you are, then start thinking and acting differently.

It’s no surprise that the Holy Spirit wants you and me to know the truth of Romans 12:2, and how necessary and important it is for changing our thinking. The more we learn to renew our mind to God’s Word, the more we will experience all that God has provided us. I like the way the Amplified Bible says it: …but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind…its new attitude…”

We need a new attitude; an attitude that sees God’s goodness in our lives; that knows the reality of God’s available power; an attitude that doesn’t give up because God hasn’t given up on us, nor will He ever.

Maybe it’s time to find out where your thoughts have been and renew your mind and attitude in God’s Word. When you do, you’ll discover there’s a bright new pathway ahead that’s full of God’s blessings just for you because He loves you so much.
