Faith Is Substance

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3

None of us were here when God formed the earth. By faith we understand, perceive, or think that God created everything by His Word. He said and it was so. Everything we know is known by faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

It is our evidence that the Word of God is true. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of ourfaith.” (Hebrews 12:2) We have the faith through Jesus. It’s a substance. It’s something through which you can make a stand.

Everything in our life happens through faith. Jesus places this faith in us and then perfects it. He gives the gift—grace, and we take it by faith.

We can’t even please God without faith—it’s impossible. “But without faith it is impossible to please him. (Hebrews 11:6)

God is allowed to operate here according to our faith. Faith is giving God permission to intervene in our lives and the lives of others. God originally gave man dominion of the earth. When it was about to go under, God sent Jesus as a man to take back dominion. Now man has dominion restored. Adam gave the dominion to Satan. Jesus, the man, took it back. Our faith allows God to work on our behalf.

God works through man. Faith allows Him to work for us. We often hear the question, why didn’t God stop it. Why didn’t He stop the murder? How would He do that—by murdering the murderer? God operates on this earth through faith. Someone has to allow Him access.

“And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:58)

Faith is evidence. It is proof. By believing the Word, we prove it in our lives by faith. Faith believes the truth. Some people have a false faith because they believe a lie. Faith in Jesus is faith in the truth.
