Well Able

We all have difficulties in our lives from time to time, don’t we? How do you handle them? Are you well able to conquer the difficulties in life that you face? If not, I have some good news from God’s Word that will encourage and equip you, so keep reading.

If you read the thirteenth chapter of Numbers, specifically Numbers 13:1-25, you’ll find the account of the 12 men Moses sent into Canaan, the Promised Land, to explore and return to him with a report of the land and the people. Two of the twelve were Joshua and Caleb. Look at verse 30. “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

All 12 had gone to the same area, saw the same thing, but only two men brought back a positive conquering-the-difficulties-of-life report. The rest were fearful and believed they couldn’t do anything and that they should go back to Egypt.

Caleb’s response was faith-inspired. He and Joshua saw the potential with God’s power, and they didn’t dwell on the circumstances or difficulties. They said ‘we can do it!’ Caleb had a mindset of unstoppable ability when coupled with what God had told him. He’d seen the miracles God performed in Egypt. He had experienced God’s provision for 40 years in the wilderness. He wasn’t about to question if God could still help them. He knew God would.

What’s stopping you today? Are you well-able to move ahead in new endeavors, in new avenues of work, in exciting faith challenges? God is for you so who can stop you?

Even when Caleb was well into his 80’s and beyond, he continued to proclaim God’s faithfulness, his strength, and God’s power in his midst to continue standing in faith to see God at work in his life and the life of Israel.

You don’t have to let anything keep you from moving forward with the Lord. You don’t have to let temporary setbacks take you back. YOU are well able to do what you need to do, to do what God has called you to do because He continues to equip you with His power, His love, and His grace, and in Him you are MORE than a conqueror. Yes, you are well able!
