“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

I guess I like this verse because it is really the crux of positive faith. This is the formulation of the can do attitude. When it looks impossible, this verse says it’s possible.

Look at the verse before this. “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” (Philippians 4:12)

Paul mentioned he had been through good times and bad times. He had been through rich times and lean times. There were times when he didn’t know from where his next meal was coming; however, he wasn’t concerned. It was Christ who strengthened him and who was his supply.

Paul found his sufficiency in Christ. “I can do all things through (Greek word is “en” meaning “in.”) Christ.” Because of our position in Christ, we are empowered to do all things—all means all.

There are no limits to this verse. In fact, if you aren’t doing something beyond your ability needing Christ to strengthen and empower you, you may not be where God wants you.

Literally it says, “I have the strength in Christ who is empowering me.” Are you looking for His enabling power to work in your life so you can say, “I can do all things”? You can, you know.
