Who Heals All Your Diseases

stream in Gatlinburg 700x400

1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5

One of the important benefits is “who healeth all thy diseases.” This is one of the benefits God gave us through Jesus. “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24) All our diseases were placed on Jesus. By the stripes He suffered we were healed.

Sickness and disease were part of the curse (Deuteronomy 28). With the entrance of sin, came sickness. When Adam sinned, he opened the earth to the damaging effects of sickness and death. However, Jesus took away the curse (Galatians 3:13). He provided a way because He is the Way.

We live now by faith. We appropriate our benefits by faith. God gave them by Grace. We take them by faith. The Word is filled with the promises. We receive them by faith. That means we must first know the benefits and second, know the promises we can take by faith.

The Word is like medicine. Like a prescription your doctor gives you, it won’t do any good sitting on the shelf. You have to take it in the prescribed manner. We can take the Word as well. The scriptures are not magic potions, that when we read them something magical happens. We read them to energize our faith. We see God healing and we believe we will be healed as well. The Word has power and we release it through faith.
