The Spirit of Him Raised Jesus

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that
raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by
his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11

One more thought before we leave this verse—maybe two. We see the role of the Holy Spirit in the resurrection. Paul says, it’s the Spirit of “Him” that raised Jesus. We see the Trinity at work. The Spirit of God raised Jesus. That same Spirit dwells in us.

The Spirit is the power. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

The Holy Spirit has taken up residence in us to help us through life. He is the comforter Jesus promised. He leads us in all truth. He is the one who guides our steps. And He provides the gifts of the Holy Spirit and fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Even though the Holy Spirit is part of the triune Godhead, we give little thought to Him. Part of that is because He points us to Jesus. “He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” (John 16:14) We don’t pray to the Holy Spirit, but He works in us to bring about good in everything situation. We can thank Him for helping us. In one sense, we cannot separate God. Yet in another, we see three distinct persons at work in us. It’s a mystery. However, God in three persons has loved us so much that Jesus salvaged the mess we made. PTL.
