Glory To Be Revealed In Us

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

The glory is within us. It will be revealed. As we will see in the next verse, creation is waiting for that unveiling. “The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.” (1 Peter 5:1)

Scripture uses the word “glory” in many ways. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) Here it seems to refer to heaven. “In glory” is a place where God’s riches are stored.

To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Galatians 1:5) Here it is giving God glory. We give God glory when we worship and praise Him. We are acknowledging who He is and what He has done for us.

There is also the glory of God, which just comes from the brightness and splendor from His being. He is light. There is no need of a sun in Heaven. God is the light from His radiant brilliance.

Most people think of the glory that will be revealed when Jesus returns. However, this verse indicates the glory of God is within us already. This glory in us is not of us. There is no glory in man. “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away” (1 Peter 1:24)

The glory in us is Christ in us. “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6) In addition, there is glory in the grace of God. That glory through the grace of God in is manifested in our being accepted into the family of God.
