The Kingdom of God – Part 2

IMG_5221-wideThe other day we began looking at the Kingdom of God and understanding that Jesus said His Kingdom is within us (Luke 17:20-21). It’s amazing if you stop and think about it. God’s rule and reign, all that He is, He places within you and I when we accept Jesus. There’s a wow factor to that but do you understand how His Kingdom should operate in your daily life?

God’s Kingdom is within you and me whether we operate in it or not. Our spirit has been reborn and we have the fullness of Christ available to us—the fullness of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. When we allow His Word and power to govern how we live our lives, we’re operating in God’s Kingdom.

Paul told the Romans about the Kingdom of God in Romans 14:17. God’s Kingdom is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. It’s God’s Righteousness in Jesus given to you; it’s not your righteousness or what you’ve done to impress God. Jesus has made you righteous—in right standing—before God your Heavenly Father. Because God sees you through Jesus, He sees you as righteous. His righteousness in you.

God’s Kingdom is full of peace. There’s no fear, worry, or anxiety in God’s kingdom. God’s peace is available for you 24/7 and it never runs out. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and in John 14:27 said that He gives His Peace to you, not like what the world tires to offer, but an eternal, forever abiding calmness and rest for your mind, your soul, your emotions, your heart, your body—all of you. His peace in you.

God’s Kingdom is also full of joy. Joy is not the same as happiness that is dependent on circumstances or situations. Jesus said in John 15:11 “these things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you and that your joy may be full.” The joy of the Lord is your strength and will carry you through the difficult times of life. His joy in you.

Are you getting a bigger picture of the Kingdom of God within you? This only scratches the surface, and I encourage you to step into more of what He has for you.
