A Cloud of Favor

“In the light of the king’s countenance is life; and his
favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.”

Proverbs 16:15

I came across this verse not long ago, and it really caught my attention because I heard the Lord tell me to stop and meditate on this verse. As I was quiet, I became to see the message the Lord wanted me to understand. Too often we may hurriedly just read some scripture for the day or just a verse and quickly be on our way not letting the Word sink into our spirits or letting the Holy Spirit speak to us.  I stopped and meditated on this verse. I looked up the key words in the Hebrew; I meditated some more, and I began to see a deeper meaning as the meaning of the words grew, also.

In the King’s presence there is life. I love the wording that says being in the king’s countenance is life. His countenance in Hebrew shows his life, his face, his presence. Are you getting a bigger picture yet? IN the presence of King Jesus, you see His face, His approval of you. That’s WHERE you receive life. It’s not in the world. It’s not in following after the ways of the world. It’s in the presence of God. And unless you’re IN the presence of the King, you can’t see his face. His face is not angry or wroth; but He is smiling at you because you’re His child, deeply loved. He longs to share more with you as you spend time with Him. When you do, it becomes as the cloud of the latter rain, or spring rain that envelops and falls on and covers you. His presence brings forth new life, His life in you.

Spend some time in the King’s presence and you’ll be changed as He showers you with His grace, His favor, and His provisions. You can’t find that in the world.
