Ears to Hear God – Part 2

hearing from God pic“Out of Heaven He made you to hear His voice,
that He might instruct thee
.”

Deuteronomy 4:36

We’re building an understanding of the importance of being able to hear God speak to us, and today we’re going deeper into the actual workings of the ear. I believe you’ll see an interesting correlation with the ear and how to develop better spiritual hearing.

The ear, as you know, is composed of three different sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. These parts all work together so you can hear and process sounds.

The outer ear collects sounds, but most obviously it is the part of the ear that people see. The collection of these sounds is caught by the outer ear in waves. Everything that you hear is channeled through your outer ear.

The middle ear is where the sound waves traveling through the ear canal are changed into good vibrations which are then delivered to the inner ear. Allowing the collection of sounds filtered through the outer ear can give you good vibrations or not-so-good vibrations, depending on what you heard.

The inner ear is the residing place of the sounds, waves, and vibrations that have entered your ear. Here is where those waves and sounds are translated into what you hear as either music or words. It engages your brain, your nerves, your entire being. This is the heart of your hearing, and we’ll look at this more in our next several segments.

Learning about the inner workings of these three important parts of the ear will help you understand the connection your body, soul, and spirit have to hearing God speak to you. And we’ll develop that more in our next segment.

Today be aware today of what you hear and determine that your heart is open and you have ears to hear from God because He wants to talk to you.
