The Lord Hears Your Prayer

Arizona Overpass

Arizona Overpass

The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.” (Psalm 6:9)

David was going through some tough struggles and getting depressed. Then he remembered all he needed to do was ask the Lord for help. David knew that if he prayed, the Lord would hear him. In fact, he believed the moment he prayed that the Lord had heard him.

Do you sometimes wonder if God is listening to your prayers? And more important, do you think He will answer your prayers? David didn’t have any reservations about God answering prayers. He’s heard them and now He’s going to take them and do something about it.

We have to be founded sure on the words of Jesus. “13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:13-14) We have to believe that God’s faithfulness is the one constant in the equation. He is the Rock on which we stand.” (Paul Ellis)

In other words, believe the Word and know God hears your prayer. Also, know that He “will do it.” We need to learn how to pray, and what to pray. For example, there’s no power in asking God to do something He’s already done. There are no works needed to get God to do something. Sometimes the answer lingers and we need to see why. Sometimes it’s the enemy challenging our authority.

Rest assured (be at rest) that God wants to hear from you and He wants to give you the desires of your heart. Healing, provision, deliverance, and forgiveness are already a done deal according to the finished work of Jesus. Ask and it shall be given.
