A Trust Not Forsaken

rainbow in Hull MA-wide“And they that know your name will put their trust in You, for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:10

I remember hearing a sermon many years ago that spoke of God as the ‘Hound of Heaven’, and immediately I had the picture of a hound dog sniffing out his intended prey.

Many times people say that you must seek God…if you seek Him with your whole heart, you’ll find Him…yes, there is our part but it actually starts with God seeking you. You see, He planned for you from the beginning of the world—even before the world began. His plans for you are good and He won’t stop planning for you.

Just as David said in verse 10, the Lord has not and will not forsake those who seek Him. That’s good news! He showed us the example in the return of the ‘prodigal’s son’. Daily, morning, noon, and night the father went out looking for his son. He continually looked for his son’s image to come down the pathway. He had not forsaken his son. He expected him to return, and he did. What joy there was in his return home.

The Lord is still seeking you. He desires for you to draw close to Him, to fellowship with Him. He has a lot to share with you. And for those who trust in His name, He will show Himself strong on their behalf. That’s God seeking you.

Surely God’s presence, His goodness, blessings, and mercy will follow you—seek you out—all the days of your life. Keep trusting in the God who seeks for you. He won’t forsake you.
