Romans 8:2 – In Christ Jesus

^“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)

Yet again another tremendous benefit for being in Christ. Have you been keeping track of everything you are and have through Jesus? There are hundreds of verses, which show what He has done for you.

Here Paul points out that we have life through the Spirit. “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” (1 Corinthians 15:45) God breathed in to man and he became a living soul. “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7)

^“For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.” (John 5:21 (NKJV) “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4)

This life is eternal life. It is never-ending life. This spiritual life transcends the natural. Jesus has brought this life to us.

Sin and death held us in bondage. The life of God in us has freed us from that bondage. No longer are we under any bondage to sin. “But now being made free from sin…” (Romans 6:22) The Spirit of life in Christ has overcome death. We now have eternal life. We have new life though Jesus and since we are now in Christ, we have this freedom giving life within us.

Just one more exciting reason for our being in Christ.
