Exalt The Lord In Your Midst

names of Jesus pic-wide

Psalm 47:6, 9
“Sing praises to our God, sing praises…God is greatly exalted.”

You might be familiar with verse 1 if you learned a praise chorus years ago. And, if you did, I’m sure you did the hand motions as well (clapping your hands). In David’s declaration we find an important focus—focusing on God and exalting Him in our midst.

It doesn’t matter what may be going on in your timeframe. You may be going through some tumultuous times. Praise always goes before battle. When Israel went into battle, the praisers, the tribe of Judah (meaning praise) went first declaring the Lord, exalting His name and Power.

Here’s the key to overcoming tough times:  Praising the Lord. It may be tough and you may say ‘what? You want me to praise God when things are this bad and there’s no end in sight?’ Yep because it’s when you change your focus that you’ll have peace, joy, and the victory isn’t far down the road. It’s giving the sacrifice of praise with thanksgiving (Hebrews 13:15)

You can get through the tough times when you magnify the Lord in your midst. You will increase and not decrease when you declare His provisions for you, because He is your prosperity. He is your healing so you can declare with boldness and certainty because of Jesus’ finished work that ‘by His stripes I AM healed’. That’s exalting God. That’s exalting the work of Jesus.

It’s a done deal when you exalt Jesus in your midst. Don’t wait. Start today and keep exalting Him no matter what you encounter. He’ll bring you through with flying colors. It’s a done deal!
