2 Corinthians 13:4 – Live With Him

2 cor 13-4 700x400
“For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He liveth by the power of God.
For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live
with
Him by the power of God toward you.”

2 Corinthians 13:4

Paul is addressing a problem that the Corinthians believers evidently had (verse 3)—that being proof of Christ speaking through Paul to them. God’s power had been proven among the believers in Corinth by signs and wonders, the miracles of God. Paul wants them to understand that it is God’s power that raised Jesus from the dead, and it is the power of God that enables us to live with Him. It is the power of God that he preaches.

God’s power never wavered or ran out. It is still the same today. Even in our human weakness compared to God’s power, it is by the power of God toward us that we enjoy God’s blessings. Paul continues in verse 5 by telling them they aren’t weak or reprobates because Jesus lives in them. That’s God’s power living in you.

You shall live with Him by the power of God toward you. Paul says that our position as a born-again believer is with Christ. When you see yourself seated with Christ, accepted in the Beloved, you have no doubt of His power available to work in your life and through your life.

It’s the power of God toward you—inexhaustible, full, and complete.
