Burden Removing Power

Williamsburg sky

“Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you;
He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55:22

The voice of the enemy came against David; wickedness is in the midst of evil doers. He’s between a rock and a hard place, YET he determines to look to his God and release to Him what he is experiencing in the natural. He encourages himself and those who are oppressed and attacked to cast their burden upon the Lord. Don’t keep it and try to work your way through the difficulties. Let it go and give it to God and move forward.

When you cast something, you throw it out there, you hurl it. It’s not a nice wimpy toss. You’re hurling with all the force you have and then some! You’re not meant to carry the burden because that only weighs you down.

The Psalmist says when you cast your burden onto the Lord, He’ll sustain you. That means He’ll nourish you while this is going on; He’ll feed you, and abide in you. You’ll be uplifted, strengthened, and encouraged because you got rid of what would otherwise bog you down and potentially defeat you.

God wants you to walk in victory. He wants you to walk in His joy and peace. That’s why He’ll carry your load, whatever it is. Don’t keep carrying it trying it work it out on your own. You’ll only stay continually frustrated and defeated.

HURL your burden(s) onto the Lord and receive His strength, wisdom, peace, joy—ALL that He is because of His finished work. His burden-removing power is within your reach. Take it today because it’s yours.
