Hope of Deliverance

IMG_4444-wide“…my hope is in You. Deliver me from all my transgressions:
make me not the reproach of the foolish.”
Psalm 39:7-8

David is very contemplative in this psalm as he looks at his life, the frailty of it, and the wicked. Yet, as we’ve seen before, even in the midst of depressing thoughts, he turns to God. His HOPE is in God.

This hope transcends any and all difficulties and even transgressions. This hope lifts him above reproach and the foolish. Until you know the hope of God, you don’t know real hope. Hope is confident expectation in God, and it comes from a renewed relationship with God’s Son, Jesus. He is your hope.

Because God is David’s hope, he knows he will be delivered from transgressions. He will expect to see God move in his life. He expects God’s blessings and grace to continue in his life.

Too many times believers are only ‘hoping and praying’ that God will do something. There’s no confident expectation of what God has promised to do and has already done. How do you build the confident expectation in your life? Through the Word of God.

The more you study, read, and receive God’s Word, the more hope will rise up big in you. The more you’ll see God’s faithfulness; and the more you see God working in your midst, the stronger you become.

Your hope of deliverance is in God’s Word. It is in the finished work of Jesus. It is available to you right now, so don’t wait to take hold of it today.
