Safe And Secure

mother hen with babies“Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in You;
yes, in the shadow of your wings will I make my refuge until these calamities
be overpast. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let Your glory be above all the earth.”
Psalm 57:1, 5

David knew that when he was in distress and difficulty, He could count of God’s mercy and love. It always sustained him no matter what. And he had learned to dwell, abide and rest in God’s refuge, His protection.

It’s a picture of a mother hen protecting her chicks. A storm begins to rage around her, and she calls for her chicks to come to her for protection and safety. They scramble and quickly find shelter under her wings as she protects them until the danger is past.

That’s how our God is. He is your refuge, your fortress, your safety and protection no matter what is going on around you. You’re safe in His arms, and your protection is always in His presence. He will bring you out of what is currently happening. He has good things planned for you—things that will not only give you hope but a future that’s bright in His love and grace.

When life dumps on you, run to your shelter, your protection, and find peace for your mind, calmness for your soul, and strength for your body. When the clouds begin to clear exalt and praise your God because He is good and His mercy and grace are in abundance toward you.
