The Righteousness of Faith Speaks

Romans 10:6, 8

‘”6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh…8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee,
even in thy mouth and in thy heart… that is the word of faith which we preach.”

We’ve looked at this verse in times past, but it bears repeating again. The main key is that faith speaks—the righteousness which is of faith. What does it say? It should say what Jesus has done for you. It should declare His finished work on your behalf. It should speak His words for your health, healing, provision, prosperity, peace, and much more

T.L. Osborn makes an interesting statement that tie into these verses in Romans:

“You will not, you cannot rise above your own words. If you talk defeat, fear, failure, anxiety,
sickness, unbelief, you will live on that level. You, nor anyone else, will ever live above
the standard of your conversation. This principle is unalterable.”

Think about what you’ve been saying. Have you been saying you’re defeated and a failure? Have you been continually saying you’re worried sick about a situation in your life? If you have, then STOP THAT.

Begin saying what God says. Fill yourself up with His Word. As you do, faith will speak. Faith will always declare what God has said, what Jesus has done. It will raise you above where you are now.

You will stay where you are if you keep talking like you’ve been talking.

Make a change today. Change the words of your mouth. Change the thoughts in your mind. Renew both your mouth and mind by getting into God’s Word. Let faith rise up big in you as you renew yourself in Christ’s finished work for you.

The word of faith is in your mouth so start speaking it forth.
