A Must Have

11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling,
and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you,
and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I think all of us want this prayer operative in our lives. We all want the name of Jesus glorified in us—Jesus in you and you in Him. What is to be glorified? The name of Jesus be glorified.
“9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV). Jesus is the name above every name. We glorify Jesus so everyone will see, will bow, and will confess Him as Lord.
We want our lives to shine forth the glory of Jesus that is also in us because Jesus is in us. Our lives should “to magnify, extol, and praise” Jesus. We bring Him glory when we give Him the credit for anything good that happens in our lives. How did you get out of debt? It was the blessing of Jesus. How did you get well? It was the healing of Jesus. In Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
It’s all about Him. John the Baptist put it this way. “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). We glorify Him according to the grace of God toward us. His favor brings blessing. We magnify his goodness and love. His grace revealed in us to others brings them life and glory to the Lord.
We are glorified in Him. We are lights to the world. We aren’t just moons reflecting light. The Son dwells in us and we radiate His glory to the world.
Say, “Jesus be glorified in me.”
