Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask
or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Paul shares with the Ephesian believers in chapter 3 about the power of God toward us. He wants them to know the riches of Christ’s love, grace, mercy, and provision, and wants them to be filled with ALL the fullness of God. His message also includes you and me, and he wraps it up in this chapter by giving glory and praise to the Lord because of His exceeding abundant ability that he desires to see working in their lives.
How do you get to see the exceeding abundant in your life as a believer?
It is according to the power that worketh in us according to Ephesians 3:20. When I read this portion of scripture I saw something new. I’d always thought it was about Christ’s exceeding and abundant power working in us. It is BUT what grabbed my attention is that I may not always allow Him to do exceeding abundantly because I’m not asking for that; I’m not expecting that. I believe it, yes; but I may not be allowing my expector to be ready for the exceeding abundance from God. We may only have an expector of 5 on a scale from 1 to 10.
How do you increase your faith expector? With the Word and what Jesus has done on the Cross for you. The more you build your faith in the Word and the finished work of Jesus, the more you’ll see His goodness, His abundant provisions in your life. The more you focus on Jesus, the more your faith will soar, and the more your expector can expect.
Don’t allow your sight to be clouded with the cheap thrill of the world, the quick-fix solutions. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Adjust your eyesight so you continue to see Jesus. If you believe that nothing is impossible for the Lord, then why back off in expectation of the exceeding abundantly in your life? Jesus is ready to do MORE. He wants to do the exceeding abundantly. Let’s get into agreement with the Word.
