Acts 13:39 – Justified By Him

Acts 13-39 700x400
Acts 13:39
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which
ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

What an exciting verse! It tells us clearly that those who believe in Jesus are justified from all things. I trust you’re in this group of those who believe and trust Jesus. I trust you’ve received His justification and forgiveness of sin. Jesus did what the law could not do.

The law of Moses could not provide eternal restitution and justification for sin. It only allowed atonement for sin just once a year. But through Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross for you and me, He satisfied the judgment and punishment of sin. He paid the ultimate price so we no longer have to wait for an entire year to receive atonement. It’s available now, today, tomorrow, and lasts forever. By Him—by Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant made on better promises.

But, there’s more in this verse. You no longer stand before God condemned for your sins if you believe in Jesus’ finished work. He was the sacrifice for you, on your behalf and for everyone else who has ever lived, who is living now, and who will yet live in this world—all that believe.

It’s a fantastic truth to know and understand that you are justified by Him, not by your own efforts. When God looks at you, He doesn’t see your sin. He sees Jesus’ sacrifice, and His sacrifice was sufficient to pay the penalty for sin. God sees you through His Son, and He accepts you. Jesus has reconciled man back to family and fellowship with God.

Jesus did what you and I couldn’t do. No matter how hard we’d try, no matter how hard we’d work to be righteous, we wouldn’t meet the standard of being justified. It is through Jesus, by Him. It’s God’s grace, His unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor through Jesus. His grace is a gift. There isn’t anything you can do yourself, in your own merits, to earn it. It is freely given because it was provided by Him. Shout the good news today by declaring out loud “I am justified by Jesus Christ and God loves me.”
