God’s Word Never Fails

Jeremiah 31:17
17And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

I want to preface the following account by letting you know that no matter what you encounter or experience in your life, you will make it through everything. The Lord has given His Word that He will never leave you, and He won’t—even when you’re not sure He’s there or you don’t know what to do.

I know the power of Jeremiah 31:17. I’ve stood on it, proclaimed and declared it, and best of all, I saw its fulfillment. This verse that broke the enemy’s chains trying to destroy our daughter. After the Holy Spirit revealed this verse to me, I didn’t let go of it. God’s Word was true and everything else couldn’t stand against His Word, His power, His faithfulness, and His plan for her.

For countless days we did not know where our daughter was. She was home one day; the next day she was gone without a word or explanation. I made it through those long days by continuing to proclaim God’s promise to me. She made it back home several months later after a daring ultimatum to the group she’d gotten involved with. She was scared; scared of the people she’d been associated with. She wanted to come back home and be where she was loved and safe. She made it home safely even with a busted-in passenger side window provided by the people who didn’t care about her at all.

Through that experience, I learned so much more about the power of God’s Word, His faithfulness, and the power that I had as a believer and child of God. I took authority over the works of the enemy, and I wasn’t about to let take my daughter go. She was a child of God. He loved her and had good ahead for her.

Today our daughter is happily married and the mother of our three precious grandchildren and today is her birthday. By the way, her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”.

Don’t ever doubt the power of God’s Word or His promises to you. Trust His Word. Trust Him. He is faithful.
