Colossians 2:3
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
I recall as a child going with my Grandparents to downtown Los Angeles and getting to eat at Clifton’s Cafeteria. I always looked forward to that special time with them because after the meal children could pick out a little toy from the Treasure Box.
When I read this scripture, I could picture myself reaching into that Treasure Box, and I immediately saw the picture of God’s Treasury available for me every single day, at any time. That’s what this verse is showing us.
In HIM—in Jesus Christ, the fullness of God—are all the treasures that God has for you and I. He hasn’t made His wisdom and knowledge unattainable to us. He hasn’t kept us away from fellowship with Him. He hasn’t blocked us from coming to Him because of our past, our mistakes, failures, or anything like that. His Treasure Chest is FULL; in fact, OVERFLOWING, and He wants us to partake of it daily.
His treasures hold everything we need in this life on earth. He’s poured into His treasures everything that He IS. It’s like opening a Thesaurus to find new words—it’s packed full of new words ready to express expanded meanings.
God’s treasures are packed full of the available riches of God in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 3:9), and they are no longer hidden but are ready for you to receive and appropriate in your life. God’s wisdom and His knowledge is available for you today. You may be facing choices or decisions you have to make and you aren’t sure what to do. Dig into the Treasure Chest of God’s Word and you’ll find just what you need.
