Abounding In His Fullness

overstuffing picture

ROMANS 15:13

13Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We’re digging further into Romans 15:13. We saw the other day that God has not only recreated us in His image through the recreation of our spirits when we were born again, but He continues the process by filling us with Himself.

We talked about the stuffing material needed to make stuffed animals and toys or decorative pillow. God’s design is different for each one of His children, but the stuffing material is always the same, and that’s what I want us to center on today.

Our verse says that the God of hope will FILL you with all joy and peace in believing. Just as you fill the creation you’re sewing with stuffing material, God is doing the same our lives as He continues filling us with His joy, His peace, and His power. I saw Him pouring that into you and I so much that it appeared we were overstuffed.

The key factor to receiving His extravagant filling is simply to believe. Believe what His Word says and that He provided it for you because of the finished work of Jesus for you. Believe that what He promises you in His Word. He is faithful, and not only that but He is so ready to continue filling you with everything He IS. He wants you to be so full that you just can’t help but overspill to others.

That’s the picture of abounding in hope through the work and power of the Holy Spirit in your life. It is the God of Hope filling you with all joy and peace in believing. The exciting thing is that since God is the God of Abundance, when HE fills you, you’re not only FILLED but you’re OVERSTUFFED. Christ in you, the HOPE of glory as Paul says in Colossians 1:27.

Believe that He loves you, right where you are. Believe and trust Him. Allow His hope and fullness to fill all the nooks and crannies, the empty and hollow places of your life. When He’s in you, you’ll abound in His fullness and overflow.
