Ephesians 1:11 – In Whom We Have an Inheritance

Ephesians 1-11 700x400a

Ephesians 1:11-12
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

God has it all thought out and carefully designed. He didn’t get a committee together and try to get a consensus on how He would do things. It all figured out folks. He is a committee of one. I don’t think the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are ever in disagreement. It’s the counsel of the will of God.

Invariably the question will arise on what happens to people who never hear the gospel? Or what happens to children who die? Not to worry. God has it all figured out. He hasn’t told us about all things He is doing. However, according to His purpose for us He has worked it all out.

We do know from Romans 8:28 that He is working things out for our good. So we don’t have to worry about how things are going to work out. We know things will work for our good.

We also know we have an inheritance. Jesus has received all things by inheritance. ”Being made so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they” (Hebrews 1:4).

“16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;” (Romans 8:16-17).

We are joint-heirs with Jesus. What’s His is ours. Most of us live our lives never knowing what inheritance God banked for us. We don’t know about His healing, provision, grace, love, protection, and on goes the never-ending list. We have obtained it.

You might ask where it is. Don’t ask me , ask Jesus. Go listen to what He says is your inheritance. You might be surprised what He had planned for you. It’s a done deal. You have obtained it. Go find it.
