Get a Bigger Picture of God’s Grace

Magnifying God's Grace pic 700x400

Romans 5:17

17For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

A youngster watched his mother paint a beautiful vase on the canvas. He looked puzzled for a few minutes, and as his mother made one last stroke on the canvas, she glanced at him. “Why the puzzled expression?” she asked. The child touched the real vase on the table and then looked at the vase she’d painted on the canvas. “Mommy, the vase you painted isn’t big at all. It’s smaller than the vase here on the table,” he explained. His mother smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. “You’re right, but  my canvas wasn’t big enough to show how large the vase really is.” He slowly nodded and then said, “well, that’s too bad because the real vase is really, really BIG.”

Sometimes we have a small image of something that is really bigger. You may have seen pictures of Niagara Falls and thought it was amazing. But until you’ve been there in person do you understand the magnitude of just how BIG and powerful Niagara Falls really is.

That’s the same thing that happens in our spiritual lives. We’re told God loves us so much that it’s sometime hard to fathom in our minds. We’re told about God’s great grace through the finished work of Jesus. We get a glimpse of that because we understand that we were saved by grace through faith in Jesus. But do we fully understand or get an accurate picture of just how BIG God’s grace is?

Paul tells us in Romans 5:17 that we receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. God’s grace never runs out. You can’t deplete God’s grace ever. And you got it all when you believed in Jesus. The abundance and fullness of every good gift that God has is already yours, benefits of the New Covenant. You’re a joint heir with Jesus, so everything is rightfully yours as His child including healing, wholeness, peace, joy, prosperity and so much more. It’s time to allow God’s grace in you to become bigger than you can imagine!
