Romans 11:36 – All Things Through Jesus

Romans 11:33-36
³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! ³⁴ For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counsellor? ³⁵ Or who has first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed to him again? ³⁶ For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Paul pretty much sums up the whole of our existence when he says, “of Him,” “through Him,” and “to Him.” He is the sum total of all things. Remember all means all.

Without Him we wouldn’t exist. It’s through Him we have our very being.

^“For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also His offspring.” (Acts 17:28)

Everything from the tiniest particle only seen with expensive microscopes, to the farthest reaches of the universe seen through expensive telescopes is all from the design and creation of God. Even the unseen things are all created by Him.

^“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:16 NASB)

I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in the minutiae of life, we forget we are all part of God’s creation. We are here by His design and purpose. We have a higher purpose than just doing all the little things we seem to have to do every day. Yes someone needs to go shopping and to the bank. But God meant life to be abundant.

It’s about Him. Our thoughts ought always to be on Him. To Him be the glory. We do nothing of ourselves. What we do we do because of Him. Thankful and grateful is our middle names.

There is more. Are you satisfied with knowing Him as you do? Or do you want it all? He is the source of all things.
