Revelation 14

17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
I came across this verse the other day and it really stuck with me. It got me to thinking about the language we speak here on earth. I’m not referring to if you speak English or Spanish or any other language. Are you speaking the language of Heaven?
Yes, Heaven has a language. The Apostle Paul said the kingdom of God isn’t meat or drink; in other words, it isn’t what you eat or what you drink. The Jews and disciples didn’t fully understand that the kingdom of God was near them and would soon be in them because of Jesus’ finished work. He brought the kingdom of God to live within man. After His death, burial, and resurrection they could understand that Jesus was in them. Jesus, God Himself, took up residency within man, and the power of this kingdom was alive and would continue to speak of God’s wonderful gift of reconciliation, righteousness, approval, love, peace, and joy.
That’s the language of Heaven. That’s what the Holy Spirit speaks to you each day. He reassures you of God’s kingdom residing in you, that you are righteous before God the Father, justified by His Son’s blood, and accepted and dearly loved. The Holy Spirit continues to remind you of the peace of Jesus that passes all human understanding and analyzing—a peace that settles any issue without uncertainty, fear or worry attached. The Holy Spirit bubbles up inside you with deep lasting joy—not just happiness that is dependent on outward circumstances. His joy is full of power keeping you at rest and allowing you to ride out the storms of life knowing He is with you no matter what.
THIS is the language we are to speak each day to ourselves and to others. Don’t speak the meat and drink issues, the circumstances whether negative or otherwise. Speak the language of the kingdom of God. Speak peace into the situation. Speak joy into the problem. Declare as a child of the kingdom of God that you are righteous, not defeated, highly favored, and dearly loved. You’ll see things change in your life when you speak the language of Heaven.
