3In whom also we have obtained an inheritance…
I recall years back when I accepted a full time position with a company that I was given an employee’s handbook which explained various aspects about the company, my part in those, and other benefits to which I was entitled. Once I signed my W2 form and agreed to abide by the expectations and procedures of this company, I was then employed by them. (That was the same company I worked for 18 years before retiring).
Whenever you start a new job, there’s usually some type of contractual agreement you and the new employer sign and agree to. It’s for your benefit. Several family members recently started new jobs and signed paperwork that they agreed to the details of the job offered them. Now they’re enjoying the benefits of full-time employment.
As a believer you have full-time benefits. It’s even better than some TV insurance advertising that promises you’ll never be turned down or your policy cancelled. I’m sure you recognize the main benefit that most churches proclaim—salvation in Jesus who provides eternal life. You definitely don’t want to leave earth without it!
God’s handbook is His Word, and the New Testament is full of the provisions of His New Covenant of Grace through Jesus. Some folks don’t know that the provision of healing is for today. God hasn’t changed and neither has Jesus. 1 Peter 2:24 says that by His stripes we were healed. If we were, then we are today. Some people don’t realize that they’ve been redeemed and can freely receive and walk in all of the provisions of God’s blessings: provision or prosperity, peace, fullness of joy, freedom from anxiety and fear, and so much more.
If you’re not walking in these benefits, it’s time to learn more about them. Get out your handbook. Open your Bible. Read the book of Romans and the other Epistles and learn what Jesus has done for you. The terms of God’s agreement is backed up with the shed blood of Jesus. He wants you to know as a believer what is yours and for you to live in ALL that He has given you.
