Easy And Light

When you leave your church service, do you feel lighter, as your burdens disappeared or do you feel like you need to do more—more prayer, more Bible reading, more witnessing, and more works? If you don’t leave lighter than you came, you aren’t hearing the message of grace. Jesus said, ^“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” Matthew 11:30 NKJV).

The message you  should hear is “easy and light.” You should sense a greater freedom in your daily walk. “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him” (1 Peter 5:7 AMP). We can’t keep all the problems away, but we can respond in faith and trust. Jesus cares so we don’t need to care about the anxieties of life.

But shouldn’t we be doing more? What we do flows from love within us. It doesn’t flow from duty. We obey because we know God’s way is the way to peace and that flows from within because Christ dwells in us. It always begins within us, the Holy Spirit always guiding us into all truth.
