Easy And Light
January 28, 2015The Acceptable Year
January 30, 2015Let’s be honest: sometimes in our own human selves it’s hard to accept people the way they are or where they are. How can we change that? We need to first change our thinking and mindset before we will see others change. Galatians 5:22 talks about the fruit of the Spirit that should be evident in each believer’s life: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, temperance. Do we walk in these attributes?
Paul says that these attributes are fruits. That means something within us is the producer of these qualities, these actions. That also means it’s not us; in other words, it not what we do to produce more love or longsuffering or goodness. If we can’t produce this, then how do we walk in these fruits?
It’s through the power of God’s grace operating in our lives. When we choose to let His grace rule in our hearts, we’ll begin to see His fruit manifesting in our lives. That’s when we’ll be able to accept people where they, the way they are.
That’s when God’s love will touch and transform their lives.
