How’s Your Focus?

A friend of mine recently received the wrong prescription for her glasses and had a terrible time trying to see anything without developing intense headaches. She begin to fear that something was terribly wrong with her eyes, and finally went back to the eye doctor who informed her they’d given her the wrong prescription and corrected it. Once she got the new glasses with the corrected lenses she was able to see everything perfectly without any headaches.

If you’re having problems seeing the freedom of God’s amazing grace you have in Christ, you’re not looking through the right spiritual lenses. This freedom is understood through the lens of the righteousness of Jesus and His finished work (Romans 8:2). If you continue to see your salvation as dependent on how you perform and what you do, you’ll be frustrated, burned out, and discouraged.

Focus on everything that Jesus fulfilled and provided through His sacrifice. The more you see Jesus, the more you’ll understand God’s love and the operating freedom of His grace in your life. As you do, the more you’ll walk in the liberty of His grace.
