Expanded Heart = Increased Freedom

Our friend, Phil Drysdale (PhilDrysdale.com) sent an email encouraging believers to continually renew our mind with the awesomeness of our God who has no limits but gives us freedom beyond measure. He adds the following illustration to challenge us to ‘find Him (God) bigger’. In Prince Caspian from the Chronicles of Narnia, Lucy sees Aslan (who represents Jesus) after a year and says to him “you’re bigger”. How does he respond? Not with accusation or condemnation but with love: “…every year you grow, you will find me bigger”.

Every day Phil says, you and I have an opportunity to grow and experience something more amazing of who God is. That’s ‘finding Him bigger’.

The freedom provided through Jesus won’t expand your heart and life until you find Him bigger. God doesn’t change. I do. You do. If your image of God is the same it’s been for years, it’s time to expand your heart for more of Him. He’s still the same whether you’ve grown in Him or not. He’ll fill you to overflowing, inside and out if you’ll let Him. That’s when you’ll increase in the freedom He’s already given you.
